Two bicycles locked on a metal rack
And I can't seem to find the keys
So I cover them up with plastic tarp
That blows off in any strong breeze
You can see them out on the patio
Next to four plastic patio chairs
The patio's too small to use
So I just leave it all stacked up out there
CH
Do I really need all these things, all these things
I could do a lot more if I had a little less of all these things
V2
My grandfather's mandolin that I never learned how to play
An electric bass guitar that I never learned how to play
Two bowling balls in their bowling bags
With some shoes I might use someday
Like the clothes that might fit if I slim down a bit
I can never seem to throw away
CH
Do I really need all these things, all these things
I could do a lot more if I had a little less of all these things
BR
Up on a shelf, surrounding myself with things I used to do
The money I paid, the choices I made, leaving no room for you
Must've been a thousand CDs I had to leave behind
Boxes of books and stereo gear in that place that was yours and mine
And I agreed to give back my keys in exchange for all that stuff
But I said, Keep it, burn it, give it away
'Cause if I can't have your love...

Do I really need all these things, all these things
I could do a lot more if I had a little less of all these things
