He hosts Songwriters At Play showcases at various venues on California's Central Coast. He currently resides in Shell Beach, CA.

Steve Key 59th Birthday Celebration
Steve Key will head into his 60th year with a special Birthday Concert at the Shell Cafe in Pismo Beach. Tom Walters (of The Taproots and Inner Faces) will accompany Steve on mandolin and guitar. Show begins at 6:30pm. 
The $10 cover includes a CD. After 28 years, Steve is re-releasing his debut album, "Between Trains", to be available for the first time in digital format. Recorded in New York City in 1988, the 10-song collection captures Steve Key as a 31-year-old up-and-comer on the folk circuit. Seven originals are mixed with covers of Greg Brown, Christine Lavin, and David Ray.  This is a limited release, only 30 copies will be available at the birthday concert only. Attendees may have a copy of Steve's current CD, "The Investment", once the copies of "Between Trains" are gone.
Yes, there will be cake (vegan, of course).
